Feature: Yulia Rivas' Live To Feel Story

In this industry -BPO. Most of us are very conversational in letting other people know our opinion, our thoughts and even what we want in our life. We are usually interactive and whenever we vocalize what we have in mind, we make sure that the thought is complete and readily understandable by other people.

Some people are not that gifted with confidence like we are. Some are very timid in letting other people know their emotions and wants. It is not because they don’t know what to say, maybe because they are not used to it or they are afraid that this can cause misunderstanding or be misinterpreted by other people.

This doesn’t mean that they can express what they feel. They, like us, too express their emotions but not in words but in a medium that they are good. It can be by singing, composing, playing an instrument like a piano, violin or guitar, drawing, painting, sports, travelling, writing blogs, poetry, planting a tree, joining a group or a peer and even dancing.

Like Yulia, she is not that talkative and is usually very shy, but she is able to express what she feels through her passion—dancing. Movement allows her to be herself and live to feel.

Acing that Versant Exam

Versant Exam is a standard test to gauge your listening and language skills. Usually they use an Avaya phone and they let you dial a number; a voice prompt then answers and asks you to do the following – reading, answering and creating your own story. This is an easy examination if you know what to do and your confidence is not clouded with nervousness. This sometimes hinder if not most, some applicants not to get their most awaited job contract. For us to pass this so called dreaded assessment coined by some (mostly newbies), it will be helpful for us to know how does this work first. Indicated below are some key aspects we need to know and consider when taking this assessment. Why BPOs use Versant Assessment? Versant is a totally programmed examination of verbal English that allows those call center companies to ensure that applicants and employees have the level of verbal English communication skills necessary for a customer service/ sales associate or a technical sup...

Scam Alert: An Update

I am writing this again to update people from Call Center Philippines FB groups of some companies I’ve seen online that are considered and reported scam by people who applied to those before. It is better for us to prevent such companies so that our money, time and energy will not be wasted. It is just alarming that instead of these companies being eradicated since this generation has an easy access to information provided that most of us have an access to the internet. I guess some people are still lazy to check first the history or background of the company before they apply. Again, checking the information of the company does not only save you from the question, “Why did you apply here?”, but it also safeguards you from being a victim of a scam scheme. Some scam companies will get monies from you and even if it is just Php 500.00, still it is your or your parents’ hard earned money so be vigilant. Always ask other people from the group or better yet do some research since I...
